History
Following is a very brief overview of the history of our church.
Spring 1994: Christopher Labs and others develop a desire to plant a daughter church of Westminster Presbyterian Church in the Lancaster area.
January 1995: Church of Christ Scientist property goes on the market
April 18, 1995: The Steering Committee first officially meets at Westminster.
June 30, 1995: Purchased Sanctuary property
July 16, 1995: Sunday evening services begin in the Fellowship Hall
September 10, 1995: First worship service in our Sanctuary
April 28, 1996: Christopher Labs elected by our congregation to serve as Senior Pastor. He serves in this capacity through February of 2003.
June 2, 1996: 124 Charter Members received during the morning worship service
June 2, 1996: Afternoon worship service of organization of Wheatland Presbyterian Church as a particular church. James Montgomery Boice was the keynote speaker and the Westminster Brass played.
August 12, 1996-April 30, 1997: Ward Shope serves part-time as Director of Youth and Outreach
August 26, 1996: Doris White hired as the Administrative Assistant
May 20, 1997: Purchased current Study Center building
December 1, 1998-August 15, 2001: Trip Beans serves as Director of Youth and Outreach
July 1999- October 2010: Matthew Monticchio serves as Music Director
September 1, 2001-June 30, 2005: Matt Seilback serves as Youth Director
May 17, 2000: Purchased 1137 Columbia Avenue property for future expansion
June 1, 2002: David S. Anderson hired as Assistant Pastor
October 20, 2003-June 30, 2007: David Anderson serves as Associate Pastor
February 1, 2005: Bruce C. Mawhinney begins as Senior Pastor
July 1, 2006: Mary Jo Rader hired as Youth Director
August 1, 2009: Luke LeDuc hired as Assistant Pastor
