One of the greatest privileges and responsibilities that we have as a congregation is to nurture the faith of our children. The Bible tells us that throughout the history of the church, children were included in services of worship. We teach our children to participate in and profit from worship. Therefore, children of all ages are welcome at all our worship services. As a help to parents and to provide a space of limited distractions, nurseries are provided during worship services and Sunday classes for infants and toddlers up to three years of age. We also seek to disciple our children in the knowledge and love of Christ through various children's ministries.
CHILDREN'S MINISTRY
-
Nursery (Ages 0 - 3)
Wheatland volunteers provide childcare in two rooms (Infant and Toddler) for all three Sunday service times – Early Worship Service, Sunday School, and Late Worship Service. Wheatland views nursery service as a time to connect intergenerationally and grow our youngest up with a sense of belonging in the family of God.
-
sunday school (ages 3 - 5th grade)
(Sundays, 10:15-11:00am) Our curriculum, DWELL, invites kids to live into God’s story of creation, fall, redemption, and restoration and then live it out as they respond to God’s call. Material and instruction are intentionally targeted to different learner types, and combine activities, art, symbols and text to craft an ongoing journey in God’s story.
See Family Support section of DWELL’s website for at home resources. Our digital subscription also provides online access to the entire curriculum; if you would like to access DWELL Digital, please email Kristen Zimmerman.

children's worship training (ages 3-5)
(Sundays, during the sermon) Children are welcomed to experience and form their worship, using the order of Young Children & Worship. Weekly worship training moves through four stages of Approaching, Proclaiming, Thanking and Going, using tactile objects for Bible story telling and art materials for responsive worship work.
If you would like the Young Children & Worship weekly format to use at home to continue training our little children’s bodies and hearts in worship practices, please email Kristen Zimmerman.

children's bulletin
We provide activity resources to help occupy small hands during the sermon time. The bulletins are compiled from a variety of sources but designed for children 6+ who do not excuse for Worship Training. Younger children may enjoy coloring if they need engage during the worship service before dismissal to Worship Training.
